Counties Manukau Athletics 2017/18
Counties Manukau Athletics is made up of a group of clubs from the region that come together to offer opportunities for the Youth of Counties Manukau.
Centralised training is provided to athletes 10yrs+ in preparation for Trans Tasman, Interprovincials and Secondary Schools Championships.
Counties Manukau Athletics is made up of volunteers. These volunteers organise all trainings, championships and representative teams.
February / March News
The Counties Manukau 1500m Championship is on Sunday March 4th at the Pakuranga Ribbon day 9.30am start time. Check the facebook page for any cancellations due to the weather. This is the alternative day after the day was cancelled in February.
The Pakuranga Ribbon day is on Sunday March 4th at Lloyd Elsmore Park Pakuranga for athletes aged 2-17yr. 10am start time. Check their facebook page for all the up to date information.
The Counties Manukau Athletics Championships was completed on Saturday February 24th at Massey Park Papakura. The day was a great day for the athletes with many Pb’s and record’s broken. Thankyou to the club’s and the Counties Parents for their efforts in helping on the day. Thankyou to Louise and Lisa for doing the hours of work over the weekend to get the results out so soon. Congratulations to Hayley Marx (Pukekohe) and Matthew Aucamp (Pakuranga) who won the New Zealand U20 Hepthalon and Decathlon championships in Wanganui.
Congratulations to the Counties Manukau U16 – U18 Interprovincial teams who had a successful competition at Massey Park Papakura over the Auckland Anniversary weekend.
The team results – U16 team 2nd (by 1 point) and U18 team 2nd.
Relay results – U16 Girls 1st, U16 Boys 2nd, U18 Women 2nd.

Julian Castle medalion for most improved Male Athlete – Leo Rusher.
Sue Bearda medalion for the most improved Female Athlete – Chloe Bell
Thankyou to the Counties Manukau organising team for organising the day, the Auckland officials team for running the meeting, our local MP Judith Collins, Coucillor Daniel Newman and the local council board chairperson Brent Catchpole for opening the competition, Hamish Meechan our guest speaker at the prizegiving and our Counties Parents for their 100% support with this competition.
