Counties Manukau Athletics 2020/21
Counties Manukau Athletics is made up of a group of clubs from the region that come together to offer opportunities for the Youth of Counties Manukau.
Centralised training is provided to athletes 10yrs+ in preparation for Interprovincials and Secondary Schools Championships.
Counties Manukau Athletics is made up of volunteers. These volunteers organise all trainings, championships and representative teams.
2019/2020 Seasons Highlights
Interprovincials – Congratulations to the Counties Manukau U16 (2nd) and U18 (1st) teams who were on the podium at the Interprovincials competition in Hamilton. Individual results are –
Grade 14yr Boys – Kaelan Paranihi – 1st
Grade 15yr Girls – Natalia Rankin Chitar – 1st Marolene Basson – 3rd
Grade 16yr Men – Zachary Saunders – 1st Liam Ngchok-Wulf – 2nd
Grade 17yr Women – Jorien Fourie – 3rd
Grade 17yr Men – Desmond Van Der Linde – 3rd
This season due to the covid pandemic the 12/13yr Interprovincials, due to be hosted in Auckland, was cancelled.
Relay Day Nov 30th – Another successful day for the Counties clubs. This season we introduced the 4x50m for the grade 7-8yr athletes, the mixed 4x100m relays and the mixed medley relays for the grade 7 -14yr athletes. All these changes where a great success and we look forward to the 20/21relay day on Sunday November 22nd
Counties Manukau Championship Feb 29th – Another great day for the athletes. Thankyou to all those volunteers who made this event possible. The results for the grade 10yr – U18yr are under the competitions tab. From this season onwards the clubs are now following the Colgate rule regarding results for grade 7-9yr athletes and will not be posting results for these age groups. If you are after a result for Pb purposes please check at your clubs. We look forward to the 20/21 seasons championship on Saturday February 27th.
